Parental Responsibility

Parental Responsibility – Mother’s automatically have parental responsibility for a child. Father’s acquire parental responsibility by being married to the Mother, or having their name on the child’s birth certificate (from 1st December 2003). If neither of these apply, and the Mother is not willing to enter into a parental responsibility agreement, the court can make a parental responsibility order so that you are entitled to be informed about any decisions related to that child’s welfare.

The geographical reach of our network of specialist barristers is such that, subject to availability, we can offer representation at every Tribunal and court in England, Scotland and Wales.
