Service Charges Disputes
Business leases and long residential leases over 21 years will normally have a service charge clause where the tenant pays “additional rent” or an annual service charge for repairs and buildings insurance. Most disputes between residential freeholders and tenants concern service charges. Since 2013 the First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) has been able to decide whether service charges are reasonable.
The geographical reach of our network of specialist barristers is such that, subject to availability, we can offer representation at every Tribunal and court in England, Scotland and Wales.
